Aunque su armadura no es tan gruesa como la de la mayoría de la caballería pesada, ello no es impedimento para que los célebres jinetes de Altojardín lleven a cabo las devastadoras cargas que caracterizan a ese tipo de unidades. Ahora bien, al igual que le ocurre al común de las tropas de caballería, su debilidad radica en quedarse enzarzados en combates prolongados. Un comandante sensato pondrá especial atención en sacar el mayor partido de las dotes como flanqueadores y la notable velocidad de los jinetes de Altojardín para atacar los flancos desprotegidos del enemigo.
